Events

The downward-facing dog, the warrior, the child’s pose – yoga offers a wide range of postures with vivid names. Anyone curious to experience a yoga flow or to explore different styles should mark June 22 on their calendar. The International Day of Yoga will also be celebrated in Hannover – with a trial session in Maschpark, behind the New Town Hall.

“Hannover is a yoga city”

The event starts at 10 a.m. The first 500 participants will receive a free T-shirt and yoga mat. Among the various yoga instructors offering insights into their practices is certified yoga teacher and Hannover’s cultural officer, Eva Bender (SPD). After the yoga session, Indian catering will offer traditional specialties. The event concludes at 2 p.m. Participation in the yoga session is free of charge. Registration is requested via the website www.sportimpark-hannover.de.

“Hannover is a yoga city,” says Bala Ramani, Chairman of the Indian Association. This is the third time he has organized the yoga event together with the City of Hannover. The event is now well established, he says with satisfaction. Ramani expects up to 1,000 participants this year in Maschpark.
